For the third year in a row, the City of Long Beach opened the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach roadway to bikes, skaters, walkers, runners, and all things non-motorized. Dubbed part of the City’s “Beach Streets” program this year—with a grander ciclovía to occur in North Long Beach June 6—the Grand Prix-view, the event didn’t permit a single motorized vehicle to enter the track.
Though only an hour-and-a-half event, hundreds showed up to show off something very simple: the power of people using their bodies.
Oh, and to the dude with the Kahuna Big Stick Longboard: you, sir, rock.
