A new 77-unit apartment complex, set to take over a dilapidated parking lot at Alamitos between 3rd and 4th Streets, was approved by the City of Long Beach Planning Commission.
Taking over a two-parcel, .59-acre site, the seven story building will be a welcomed addition to what many consider Alamitos Beach (though the development falls with the oddly shaped map of the Downtown Plan, specifically in section PD-30, its northeastern-most edge).
The development will have four, two-level lofts (741-1,1152 sq. ft.) and private patios on its northern end with storefronts on its southern end, finally adding more food or retail to the lone corner occupied by Lord Windsor just east at Cerritos and 3rd.
Minus these lofts, floors three and up will take over the rest of building: 29 studios (563-720 sq. ft.), 30 one-bedroom units (711-796 sq. ft.), and 14 two-bedroom units (1,088-1,313 sq. ft.).
The development comes with 105 parking stalls, six of which will have electrical charging stations.
