In a couple of weeks on June 3, Long Beach will choose a new mayor and a handful of City Council seats. As part of a federally recognized non-profit, Long Beachize will not suggest who you should vote for or even tell you who our staff and volunteers are voting for,
But we will tell you to vote. And try to help you get your friends and family to vote to.
Modeled after the “Vote Local” campaign run by our sister website, Santa Monica Next; we created a poster with QR codes that you can print and hang in your dorm room, your favorite coffee shop, your office or church or wherever you go that has a bulletin board. One of the QR codes sends you to the website to register to vote by mail (deadline, May 27 at 4:30 p.m.) and the other will help you find your polling place.
Our two candidates for mayor offer competing visions for what the city should look like and how it will grow. Voting in the election, and getting your friends to vote in the election, is one of the best ways to make sure that Long Beach keeps moving in the right direction.
